In A New Gallery

Congratulations!  Your work appears in our
© FD- Not Currier or Ives

Featured Works Permanent Gallery.

This is certainly a pleasant surprise, but one that I am very happy about.  This is an image that morphed into a fantasy depiction of an old Currier and Ives image.

The original photo was taken from our yard after a blizzard two years ago.  There was so much snow that it reminded me of an old image. With a very good iPhone application that I used, I was able to recreate my fantasy.  This image had become a very popular one at this time of year since then.

"Withered" Winner

A group for those that find beauty in old things (and people or animals) that are past their prime. Nothing restored or pretty, or merely VINTAGE.

It was a surprise this afternoon to be notified that my image, Milo Curve, was selected as an Autumn feature.  The Milo, which is a relative of the corn family, just sprang up from some bird feed perhaps.  It sprung up and grew, and then withered at the end of the growing season.

I thought it was rather interesting and old fashioned, so I spent some time photographing it, and eventually settled on this image that I had taken to show it going past it's prime.  The image is in the top row, third in from the right.

Day of The Day Lilly

My image taken this summer of a Day Lilly, was chosen as a feature today in Color Me A Rainbow.  It is a nice group, that features images on a color collection basis.  It is so pretty to see images in only one color together. It's kind of like expressing an attitude every week based on color and just that alone of flowers and nature works only.

Anything ORANGE

In another breath, my image Afire, was selected as a finalist in the Anything Orange challenge that concluded this morning.  Afire is seen in the middle row, right.  It has been quite a morning indeed.

The Beautiful Colors of Autumn

My image,  Four O'Clock, middle row, right, was selected as a finalist in a gorgeous challenge promoted by #1 Favorites.  The challenge ended today, and the results were published this morning.  What a super collection, and I am thrilled to have been selected as a finalist.

Once In A Life Time

© FD - Paper Tulip

My image that I call Paper Tulip turned out to be a once in a lifetime happening. It was created using a paint program a couple of years ago.  It was a relatively old program that I had, and experimenting one day with several images, I produced this one of a single red tulip.
I was amazed since it represented an effect that I could not produce manually, though I could control the end result as the image developed.

I was never able to produce another image with results like this. Shortly after this image  was developed, the program crashed, and that was the end.
This is one of my most popular images and a best seller too.

"Center Stage"

My image, Center Stage, was selected today as a feature in the Art for Sale  group for the coming week.  It is a new image that I posted this week.  I originally photographed it while in Virginia, but I just never seemed to get to it until I saw it again last week in my files, and just knew it was a good image to submit.  You can view it in the group located in the top row, third in from the right.

Looking Out

My favorite image, Looking Out, has been chosen as a Top Ten Challenge Finalist once again. It is personally rewarding to find that this image has such popularity over the past two years. Nice way to end the month too. It is seen in the top row, center image.  Really petty group of images and Tulips.  The challenge was for the November Avatar ~ Tulips In A Vase Or A Container.
